Loop Beach in Cotuit
COTUIT – Barnstable Police and Cotuit firefighters responded to Loop Beach in Cotuit Tuesday afternoon for reports of a person who may have fallen into the water.
Using a drone, Barnstable Police were able to spot the body of a woman. She was recovered by a crew on a small fire department boat and the body returned to shore.
Her name has not been released, but police do not suspect foul play in her death.
The Mid Cape Dive Team also responded to the scene. The road to Loop Beach was closed off to motor vehicle traffic during the search.
