New details: Victims identified in major crash with overturned cement mixer on Route 6 in Wellfleet

WELLFLEET – A major crash was reported on Route 6 in Wellfleet about 12:30 PM. A police officer onsighted the crash by Spring Brook Road not far from the Eastham town line. A Jeep Grand Cherokee and a cement mixer collided. The cement truck rolled over trapping the driver.

A MedFlight helicopter was requested to land at the Marconi area. The victim was airlifted to Boston Medical Center. The occupants of the Jeep were reportedly not seriously injured.

Route 6 was closed between Eastham and West Road. Wellfleet Police called for the Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council Crash Reconstruction team to investigate the crash along with the Mass State Police Truck Team.


On Satruday Wellfleet Police released an update identifing the victims of the crash: The operator of the cement mixer truck was 53-year-old Jeffrey Perry of Eastham. The second vehicle involved was a 2010 Jeep Grand Cherokee operated by a 17-year-old male from Wellfleet.  The third vehicle was a 2016 Toyota SUV operated by 68-year-old Kimber Billow of Fort Lauderdale, FL.  The last vehicle involved was a 2006 BMW sedan operated by 74-year-old Bryan Quigley of Wellfleet.  The operator of the cement mixer truck sustained life threatening injuries and was flown by a MedFlight helicopter Boston.  None of the other operators were injured in the accident.
