BARNSTABLE – Multiple injuries were reported after a major crash in Barnstable about 2 PM. The crash happened at 3010 Main Street (Route 6A) near Rendezvous Lane.
A dump truck and a Chevy Silverado pickup truck collided. One person was heavily entrapped in the wreckage of the pickup. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to cut the roof off of the pickup to free that victim.
Three other victims were taken to Cape Cod Hospital by ambulances from West Barnstable, Hyannis and Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills FDs.

Route 6A was completely shut down in the area and motorists were advised to seek alternate routes. The crash is under investigation by Barnstable Police. The pickup victim was flown by LifeFlight to an off-Cape trauma center shortly after 3 PM (below).
