Busy day for Barnstable Fire

6a pole crash1BARNSTABLE – The Barnstable Fire Department was very busy Monday afternoon.

It fielded multiple medical calls and two auto accidents at the same time—one on Route 132 and Shootflying Hill Road and the other on Route 6A in front of the Barnstable-West Barnstable elementary school.

The Route 6A crash (photo at right) involved a vehicle striking a pole, splitting it about half way up. Hyannis Fire assisted at the scene.

There were no injuries in either incident.

The Barnstable Police Department is investigating.
