SANDWICH – Sandwich Fire-Rescue and Sandwich Police responded to a car vs pedestrian crash on Route 6A at Ploughed Neck Road about 7:30 PM. A MedFlight helicopter was requested to Sandwich High School which flew the victim, a 25-year-old man from Natick, MA to Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. Sandwich Police have now confirmed the vehicle did flee the scene but was later located in Marstons Mills. The driver was not identified but was charged with leaving the scene of serious bodily injury. The Barnstable County Regional Law Enforcement Council crash reconstruction team assisted by the Barnstable Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash.
