CAPE COD – Jena Brown and Erin Manley are women on a mission—to show their appreciation to the men and women of law enforcement on Cape Cod with the sweetest of treats—cookies. On Thursday they demonstrated that appreciation by dropping off cookies for a cop at every police station on Cape Cod, the two State Police barracks and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office.

Jena is the wife of a Dennis police officer and Erin is married to a Sandwich officer. They are particularly attuned to the dangers and frustrations of the job and, starting two years ago, wanted officers to know “we are there for them.”

To make the cookies, they pulled together a team of 20 bakers—police officers’ wives, families and friends— who produced over 3,000 cookies to fill 1,115 bags for distribution.

Jena and Erin are part of the “Cookies for a Cop” program, a nationwide effort that has delivered 280,000 cookies to date.

CWN had its cameras on scene for a cookie delivery to the Eastham Police Department.
