COTUIT – The Cotuit Fire Department received a call for a building fire at 115 Piney Road in Cotuit at 8:31 a.m. Monday. The first crew on scene found heavy smoke and fire in the kitchen. They mounted an interior attack and quickly knocked the fire down.
Cotuit was aided at the scene by Mashpee, Centerville-Osterville-Marstons Mills and Sandwich fire departments.
There was substantial damage to the kitchen as well as the rest of the house.
The fire is under investigation by the Cotuit Fire Department, Barnstable Police Department and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office
