blagojevicnicholasFALMOUTH  – Falmouth Police report that on Thursday afternoon at approximately 1:18 p.m., a homeowner found a man in her home. He immediately fled, but she was able to take a photograph of him and his car as he was leaving. The Falmouth Police issued an immediate Be On The Lookout For (BOLO) for his vehicle, and he was quickly located by a Massachusetts State Police Trooper heading north on Route 28. The suspect took off when the Trooper attempted to stop him and a pursuit ensued.

The operator began throwing items from his car window as he drove north, passing through road construction and heavy traffic in the process. The vehicle was finally stopped near the Bourne Bridge Rotary after state police deployed tire deflation devices. The operator, identified as Nicholas Blagojevic, 36, of Harwich was placed under arrest.

He had five outstanding arrest warrants which included multiple charges, such as: larceny from a building, breaking & entering in the daytime with the intent to commit a felony, larceny, receiving stolen property, and other assorted offenses. Many of the items that were tossed from the vehicle were quickly linked to residential break-ins in Falmouth. The vehicle that he used may also have been stolen, and that is currently under investigation. Blagojevic is currently being charged with receiving stolen property over $250, and breaking & entering a building in the daytime with intent to commit a felony (three counts). Further charges may be pending, as police have received other reports of house breaks in the same area.

The Falmouth Police Department would also like to thank the Massachusetts State Police and the Bourne Police for their alert and professional response to this rapidly evolving situation.
