Drugs and $10K in cash seized in Harwich bust

ManningmanningstephenmHARWICH – The Harwich Police Department reports that on Friday, December 18, members of the Harwich Police Department the Massachusetts State Police Cape Cod Task Force, and the Yarmouth Police Proactive Anti Crime Unit executed a State Search Warrant at 212 Route 28, Room 12 in West Harwich. The Search Warrant was issued as a result of an on-going investigation into the distribution of narcotics from this residence. The Yarmouth Police Department also assisted in the investigation.

The Search Warrant resulted in the seizure of over 500 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy), over 1,250 grams of Xanax, a half-pound of marijuana and over $10,000 in US currency (see photo above). The resident and subject of the investigation, Stephen Manning, 20, was placed under arrest for Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class B substance (MDMA); Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class D substance (Marijuana) and Possession with the Intent to Distribute a Class E substance (Xanax).

At the time of his arrest Manning had an open case out of North Carolina for similar narcotics offenses. Manning was transported to the Harwich Police Department where he was processed and subsequently held pending arraignment in Orleans District Court. Manning pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Monday in Orleans District Court and was ordered held on $15,000.00 cash bail.
