East Sandwich man accused of B&E, stealing bike and cell phone


SANDWICH
– Sandwich Police report that they were happy to reunite a Sandwich man with his stolen $1,300 bicycle and cell phone after placing a 20-year-old male in custody.

Police report that they received a call on Monday for a breaking and entering that occurred on Stonefield Drive in East Sandwich. It was reported that a bicycle and cell phone were missing from the victim’s garage.

After an investigation by Detective Gumbleton and Detective Robichaud, police arrested 20-year-old Benjamin Cooney of East Sandwich and charged him with B&E building in the nighttime with intent to commit a felony, receiving stolen property over $250, and larceny over $250.

Sandwich Police remind you to keep your homes, vehicles, and garages locked during both the day and night. The department is happy that the victim has his property back, especially because it was a meaningful gift from his family.
