Electrical issue causes smoke in basement of Harwich home

HARWICH – Firefighters were called to 563 Main Street in Harwich around 10:30 a.m. for a reported structure fire.

Crews discovered a problem with the electric service was causing smoke in the basement. A hose line was stretched and power secured to the building. Crews ventilated the smoke while Eversource crews responded to repair the issue. No injuries were reported.
