Falmouth man charged with home break-in

FALMOUTH – A Falmouth man is facing unarmed burglary charges after he was found inside a Falmouth home in which had allegedly broken into Tuesday night.

Falmouth Police developed information that a suspect was planning to break into homes in the Grasmere neighborhood.

Officers fanned the neighborhood and located the suspect, Christopher Lopes, 46, inside a residence in that neighborhood.  Lopes allegedly gained entry into the unoccupied home by using a tool to pry open the door.

He was arrested and charged with unarmed burglary, possession of burglarious tools and malicious injury to property. 

Lopes also had two outstanding arrest warrants at the time of his capture.

Police are investigating Lopes’ possible involvement in other residential breaks that have occurred recently in Falmouth.

He was arraigned at Falmouth Court Wednesday morning.
