Gas line replacement work to create new detours in Harwich

HARWICH – Harwich Police are advising motorists about daytime gas main replacement work being conducted this week by National Grid that will cause traffic detours.

The work will take place on Rt. 39 starting at the intersection and will move west towards Queen Anne Road.

Between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. a detour will be in place, weekdays, between the round-a-bout and and Rt. 137 until this section of work is completed.

Detour signs and officers will be in place assisting motorists. Rt. 39 will only be open to residents who live on streets in this immediate area.

From Rt. 137 / Rt. 39: Traffic will be detoured South on Rt. 137 to Queen Anne Road. Traffic will turn right on Queen Anne Road, back to Rt. 39.

From Rt. 39: Traffic will be detoured at the round-a-bout down Queen Anne Road towards Chatham. Traffic will turn left onto Rt. 137.
