Harwich Police and Fire-Rescue respond to Route 124 crash

Around 07:30 Thursday morning, Harwich Police and Fire-Rescue were dispatched to RT 124 (Pleasant Lake Ave) in the area of the Mobil gas station/Dunkin Donuts for a 2 car collision with injuries. Rescuers found a Kia Forte sedan and a Tee Service dump truck hauling a wood chipper, had collided causing the sedan to veer off the roadway into a sign. All involved parties were evaluated by Harwich Fire personnel and the female driver and male passenger of the Kia were transported by Harwich Ambulances to Cape Cod Hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries. No injuries were reported by the Tree Service truck driver and passengers. The dump truck was drivable, however the car had to be towed from the scene. Busy morning commuter traffic on RT 124 was slowed and customers visiting the gas station and Dunkin Donuts were required to use only one entrance/exit while the scene was worked. The collision is under investigation by the Harwich Police.
