Updated Tueseday at noon: High winds causing scattered power outages

Noon update: Wellfleet Police report that parts of Ocean View Drive between Cahoon Hollow Road and White Crest Beach is closed because of a snapped utility pole. High winds from last night’s storm damaged a utility pole causing it to take on a large lean. The power lines are still live requiring the road be shut down for the safety of all.

Eversource’s outage map showed 37 customers still out in Wellfleet along with 17 in Truro.

Morning update: Over 300 electric customers in Eastham and Orleans without power. Some areas closing in on 3 inches of rain.

Midnight update: National Weather Service reports trees or limbs down in Centerville, Marstons Mills and Falmouth. Dennis firefighters were called to a Deerfield Road residence just before midnight after the electric service lost the neutral leg causing a voltage spike and damage to some electronic components. A power outage in Wellfleet has been affecting 100 customers.

As of 10 p.m. several scattered power outages had been reported. One of the larger ones was affecting about 162 Eversource customers in Falmouth and Bourne especially in the Cataumet area. The outage reportedly occurred when live wires cane down on County Road in Bourne. Utility crews are working to restore the outages. The National Weather Service has reported a peak wind gust of 59 MPH in Wellfleet.
