Local man charged in Wellfleet B&Es


WELLFLEET
– Wellfleet Police Department reports that on Tuesday, they responded to a report of suspicious activity that had occurred the previous night. The reporting party had observed an individual walking around her property and looking into windows.

After a subsequent investigation, Officers were able to identify a person of interest. After speaking with this individual, Officers were able to connect him to several past B&Es in the area. Based on a thorough investigation Officers placed James Shavers, 29, of Wellfleet under arrest for the following:

  • 2 counts of B&E Building Daytime for a Felony
  • B&E Building Nighttime for a Felony
  • Larceny over $250
  • Attempt to Commit a Crime
  • Malicious Destruction of Property +250.

At this time the investigation is ongoing and more charges may be filed. During the investigation, the Wellfleet Police Department was assisted by The Truro Police Detective and K9 Unit.
