Mashpee Police seeking applicants for dispatcher position

MASHPEE – The Town of Mashpee is administering an entry-level selection process for the purpose of establishing an eligibility list for a full-time dispatcher position.

Candidates will be required to successfully complete a written examination, a radio communication test, an oral board interview, appointing authority interview, medical examination, psychological examination and comprehensive background investigation.

Interested candidates should submit a town application (application can be downloaded at www.mashpeema.gov) and a check for the written exam in the amount of $15.00 (made payable to the Town of Mashpee) by no later than March 20, 2017.

Minimum Qualifications: Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age upon appointment; must be a high school graduate or possess a G.E.D., supplemented with courses in typing and basic computers, have six months to one year of general clerical experience; experience in dealing with the public strongly preferred; experience in emergency dispatching for police and/or fire preferable; or any equivalent combination of education and experience.

Applicant must be of good moral character and be able to successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation upon conditional offer of employment. Minorities and female candidates are encouraged to apply.
