Minor flooding at Cape Psych Center after patient tampers with sprinkler

Cleaning crews respond to a minor flood at the Cape Cod Hospital Psych Center on Monday

HYANNIS – Hyannis firefighters responded to the Cape Cod Hospital Psych Center Monday morning after a patient reportedly tampered with a sprinkler head, creating some minor flooding.

A hospital spokesperson said 3 patients had to be moved to other rooms while the sprinkler head was replaced.

There were no injuries.

Hyannis firefighters stayed on scene while the water was removed and the sprinkler system repaired. The center was able to resume normal operations about an hour after the incident.
