WAREHAM – A New Hampshire man is facing drug charges following  an arrest in Wareham Monday.

Wareham officers responded to Pond Edge Trail in the Crane Brook Landing neighborhood of Wareham around 10 a.m. after neighbors reported a suspicious male in the area.

While checking the area, officers noticed the reported male inside a parked vehicle bearing New Hampshire license plates.

While speaking with the operator and sole occupant of the vehicle, who was identified as 29-year-old Eric Gilston of Portsmouth, NH, Sergeant Peter Flannery and Officer John Iacobucci noticed a large clear plastic bag allegedly containing marijuana on the passenger side floor.

The bag reportedly contained approximately 1 ½ pounds of marijuana.

Further investigation led to the discovery of another bag allegedly containing 1 ½ pounds of marijuana inside another bag in the trunk of the vehicle.

Sheets of paper with indications of drug transactions, including monies owed and paid, along with empty vacuum seal plastic bags and $850 cash were also discovered inside the vehicle.

Gilston was arrested at the scene and charged with possession of a Class D substance (marijuana) with intent to distribute. He was scheduled to be arraigned on the charge this morning at Wareham District Court.
