Orleans Police warn about new scam preying on recent attacks on law enforcement

ORLEANS – Orleans Police are issuing an alert about a new scam making the rounds.

With the recent injuries and deaths of police and sheriffs deputies lately, scammers are using a tactic.

Orleans Police said that if you get a call from 978-216-2346 (or any call that starts with that exchange) saying they are from the “disabled police and sheriffs foundation” just hang up.

It’s an automated telemarketer that only responds to a voice. Police say the solicitation is a scam.
