Pair arrested in stolen car with drugs in Orleans

ORLEANS – Orleans Police report that on Thursday at approximately 7:20 p.m., Officer Patrick Cronin observed a vehicle traveling on West Road in Orleans that was reported as stolen from Brockton, MA.

Officer Cronin, Sergeant Richard Dinn, Officers Sean Reed and John Mellin conducted a motor vehicle stop and placed both occupants identified as Samuel Mathieu and Delven Carvalho-Centeio under arrest for receiving a stolen motor vehicle.

A subsequent search of the vehicle and occupants revealed a quantity of narcotics, Mathieu and Carvalho-Centeio were additionally charged with possession of Class E with Intent to Distribute and Conspiracy to Violate Drug laws.   Approximately $1,100 in cash was seized as a result of this investigation.  

Both suspects were arraigned at Orleans District Court on Friday and were ordered held on bail.
