SANDWICH – The Sandwich Police Department is preparing for the Junior Citizen’s Police Academy which begins on March 1.
During the 10 week program, students will be provided instruction in Intro to Policing, Criminal Law, Court System, Barnstable County Jail, SWAT & Defensive Tactics, K9 Demo, State Police Air Wing, and Patrol Procedures.
Each academy will also include a ride along and a field trip.
Students from the 7th and 8th grade are encouraged to submit an application. Applications can be picked up in the STEM office or at the Sandwich Police Department and need to be returned no later than February 14th.
The academy will begin directly after school and be held at the Sandwich High School.
