BREWSTER –  The state fire marshal has determined that a fire in Brewster last month was intentionally set, but the public is not at risk.

Investigators believe the fire at 21 Barons Way on December 23 was started by the victim of the fire.

Firefighters searching the single family home found the body of 31-year-old Zackery Dery.

He was a native Cape Codder and 2004 graduate of Nauset Regional High School.

The investigation into the cause, manner and circumstances surrounding the death is on-going.

The fire was jointly investigated by the Brewster Fire and Police Departments and State Police assigned to the Office of the State Fire Marshal and to the Office of the Cape and Islands District Attorney.
