HARWICH – Shortly after 2:pm Harwich Police and Fire-Rescue along with MA State Police were dispatched to Rt 137 at the Exit 11 westbound off-ramp for report of a 2 car MVA involving a tractor trailer unit with unknown injuries.
Upon arrival rescue crews encountered a Toyota Camry that had rear ended a tractor trailer unit at the end of the exit ramp. Both drivers were out of the vehicles, and were conscious and alert.
The tractor trailer unit had received very minor damage to the rear of the trailer, however the Camry showed significant front end damage with a minor fluid spill. Medics evaluated both drivers at the scene and both refused further treatment or transport.
Crews handled the fluid spill and made sure the vehicles were otherwise in a safe condition. Traffic was slowed coming off the exit ramp for a brief period until the scene could be cleared. The accident is under the investigation of the MA State Police.
