MASHPEE – Two people were injured, one seriously when a car struck a tree in Mashpee shortly before 11 PM Saturday evening. The crash happened on South Sandwich Road just in from Route 130. Firefighters had to extricate one of the victims using the Jaws of Life. MedFlight was not available due to fog so that victim was taken to Cape Cod Hospital with injuries that were believed to be serious but not life-threatening. The second victim was taken to Falmouth Hospital. The crash is under investigation by Mashpee Police.
