Video: Harwich Animal Control removes snapping turtle from local bed and breakfast

HARWICH – The owners of a Harwich bed and breakfast had a visitor removed from their property Friday morning — a snapping turtle.

The proprietors of the Bluefish Bed and Breakfast on Parallel Street called for assistance when the hard-shelled guest showed up in their driveway.

Worried that some of their guests could be bitten by the turtle, Harwich Animal Control Officer Jack Burns picked up the slow-moving critter and removed her to a local pond.

According to Burns, the turtle was just looking for a place to lay some eggs.
