Wareham Police arrest and charge 2 local residents in drug bust

WAREHAM – Wareham Police have arrested and charged a male and a female as the result of a months long investigation regarding the distribution of  heroin and Fentanyl throughout the Wareham area.

Christine Quinn, 28, and Mario Ogletree, 30, were arrested Thursday morning.

Police were checking a wooded area detectives learned was used to hide heroin that was packaged and ready to be sold at various Wareham locations.

At that location, detectives discovered approximately 308 grams of suspected heroin inside a piece of PVC pipe. The suspected heroin has a street value estimated at approximately $30,000.

As the investigation continued, a search warrant was obtained for Quinn’s home at 8 Ladd Avenue in Wareham.

During a search of the residence, a plastic knotted bag allegedly containing approximately 20 grams of heroin, several drug related paraphernalia items, and $17,719 cash was located in Quinn’s bedroom.

At the time of their arrests, Ogletree possessed $385 cash, and Ms. Quinn possessed $193 cash, which brings the total cash amount seized by detectives to $18,297.

A vehicle owned by Mr. Ogletree, a 2013 Altima, was also seized during the investigation. 

Quinn and Ogletree have been charged with Trafficking Over 200 grams Heroin/Morphine/Opium and Conspiracy to Violate Drug Laws. Quinn was also arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant. They are scheduled to be arraigned at Wareham District Court on Friday, May 12, 2017.

Chief Kevin Walsh praised the efforts of WPD detectives, which resulted in a significant amount of drugs not reaching the streets of Wareham, adding “This is a major dent in the distribution of drugs that poison our town and disrupt lives in so many ways.”
