DENNIS – Dennis Fire reports that a female was flown by Medflight to Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston Wednesday evening. At 6:56 PM the Dennis Fire Department responded to a home at 862 Route 6A in North Dennis. The homeowner was attempting to refuel her outdoor fire pit with a liquid fuel. The fuel ignited causing serious injuries.
The Yarmouth Fire Department was called to transport the woman to the Barnstable Airport because all the Dennis ambulances were engaged in other calls.
The fire pit was secured by fire personnel before leaving the scene.
