Yarmouth PD seeks knife-wielding robber

robberysuspectWEST YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department reports that on Monday, December 7, at 4:50 p.m. Yarmouth officers responded to Timmy’s Roast Beef located at 198 Route 28 in West Yarmouth for the report of an armed robbery.

Responding officers were advised that a male wielding a knife robbed the restaurant and fled on foot. Two restaurant employees reported that they had observed a male outside walking back and forth in front of the restaurant. A short time later he came into the restaurant and threatened them with a knife. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5’9″ tall, in his mid 20s to early 30s, wearing a gray hoodie sweatshirt with the hood over his head, carrying a blue back pack with black straps. He had a “dingy white” t-shirt covering his face. The knife used by the suspect is described as a folding knife with a four-inch-long silver blade with a serrated tip.

Additional Yarmouth patrol officers and detectives as well as K9 officers arrived to assist in the investigation.

Members of the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Department Crime Scene Unit provided crime scene evidence collection services.

Despite an intensive search of the area, the suspect has not been located and should be considered armed and dangerous.
