Yarmouth Police charging both parents in accidental shooting of 3-year-old daughter

 

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police are charging both parents in the accidental shooting of their 3-year-old daughter last month.

The incident happened on December 23 at a home on Captain Daniel Road in South Yarmouth where the child accidentally shot herself in her left hand with her father’s firearm.

Investigators said the child had obtained access to an unsecured fully loaded handgun that had been left on a nightstand in a bedroom that she shared with her parents.

The young girl is expected to fully recover.

 

 

As a result of their investigation, police are filing the following charges against the parents:

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF A LARGE-CAPACITY FIREARM

RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT OF A CHILD UNDER 18

ALEXSANDRA JENNER                 Age:    29

UNLAWFUL POSSESSION OF FIREARM OR AMMUNITION

IMPROPER STORAGE OF A FIREARM
