YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Monday at 5:00 PM, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) Officer Sean Geary observed Jordan O’ Brien—who is well known to Cape Cod Law Enforcement and has a lengthy criminal history including several guilty findings of possession of cocaine and a guilty finding of possession with intent to distribute heroin—operating a rented brown Toyota RAV4 with Florida plates traveling on Willow Street and then Route 6 eastbound. The vehicle traveled at a high rate of speed between 70 and 80 miles per hour, committed other motor vehicle violations, and was stopped on Route 6 just passed the Great Western Road Overpass.

Fellow PAC Officer Christopher Officer VanNess arrived as back up and O’Brien was encountered and found to be armed with two knives. One knife was in his waistband area and the other was hanging in a sheath around his neck. While recovering the knives, O’ Brien stepped forward and the Officers observed a knotted plastic bag with white powder in it drop to his feet.

PAC Officer Nicholas Ambrosini and his drug detection K9 Gauge were requested to the scene and Gauge conducted a narcotic sniff of O’Brien’s person verifying the presence of cocaine. O’Brien was advised that he was under arrest and transported to the Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.

A motor vehicle inventory was conducted which resulted in the seizure of $1,136.00 in cash and other drug distribution evidence.

Based on the ongoing investigation, Yarmouth Police Detective David Schneeweis obtained a search warrant for O’ Brien’s room and a subsequent search of his room later in the evening at a South Yarmouth motel.

Yarmouth Police Department Detective Sergeant Kal Boghdan, Detective Scott Lundegren, and Detective Schneeweis, as well as Proactive Anti-Crime Unit Officers Geary, VanNess, Ambrosini and K9 Gauge; performed a search of the room which located two $1,000.00 bands of U.S. Currency and numerous types of pills, several bags of marijuana, and a black Alcatel Wireless cellphone.

Pills located in the room included:

  • 20 blue pills marked Mylan A1
  • 6 Pink Circle pills marked COR316

  • 4 Orange Pills marked MA30

Furthermore five bags of marijuana were located in the following weights; 2.9grams, 26.8 grams, 1.4 grams, 11.5 grams, and 1.2 grams.

All drug evidence and other items were seized, entered into property, and submitted for further processing. The bag of white powder was field tested by Detective Michael Wells with the TruNarc Spectrometer and tested positive for 24.09 grams of cocaine.
