Yarmouth traffic stop leads to arrest of wanted Plymouth man

Daniel C. McSweeney

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Police report that on Wednesday at 7:30 PM, Proactive Anti-Crime Unit (PACU) Officer Nicholas Ambrosini and his K9 partner Gauge were on patrol and observed a black 2013 Subaru vehicle operating on Long Pond Drive near Stop and Shop with an expired safety inspection sticker.

PAC Officer Ambrosini conducted a motor vehicle stop in the parking lot of Papa Gino’s.

The operator— identified as Aldrin E. Rivera—was found to have no active driver’s license.

PACU Officer Sean Geary and Patrol Officer David Dickey arrived as back up and the passenger identified himself as Nelson Baptiste with no identification. A short time later, the same passenger stated that he had lied about his name and gave another name Jose Martinez. That name was also not true.

A further investigation determined the passenger’s true name was Daniel C. McSweeney. A check of that named showed multiple warrants. Daniel was placed under arrest and transported to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters. The warrants were for breaking and entering, larceny and possession of a Class B substance (cocaine) out of Barnstable District Court, and larceny from a person out of Falmouth District Court

The driver, Aldrin E. Rivera, 20, of East Falmouth was criminally cited for operating without a license and expired inspection sticker
