YPD seeks man wanted for stealing jewelry

YARMOUTH
– The Yarmouth Police Department reports that it has positively identified and is actively seeking James M. Tilton of Hull, Massachusetts. Tilton is wanted for stealing jewelry from the Seaside Traders Cape Cod Marketplace in West Yarmouth on September 4, 2015. Tilton (picture at right), believed to be living off-Cape, is well known to Law Enforcement and the Massachusetts Criminal Justice System. He has 75 prior arraignments in the District Courts of South Boston, Quincy, Brockton, New Bedford, Hingham, Salem, Woburn, Lynn and many more. The criminal charges against him range from theft and breaking and entering to assault and battery and threats.

Yarmouth Deputy Police Chief Steven Xiarhos says the investigation was assisted by “information received from the public based on our initial media release, Facebook, and other social media postings.”

Again, the public is turning to the public for help. Anyone with information about the location of Tilton is asked to immediately contact their local Law Enforcement agency or call the Yarmouth Police Department at 508.775.0445.
