Cape Cod Brewery: Cape Cod Beer

A beer and ale staple in the region, Cape Cod Beer uses their own original recipes to brew Beach Blonde Ale, Cape Cod Porter, Cape Cod Red , Cape Cod Harvest, Black Van Lager and Cape Cod IPA, as well as many other special and seasonal brews. Cape Cod Beer’s philosophy is to brew the best beer possible on Cape for the people who love the Cape and distributes its beer and ales within a 50 mile radius of the brewery, from Plymouth to Provincetown. With a maximum annual capacity of 13,000 barrels housed in their brew house, Cape Cod Beer brews about 16 times a week during the busy season.

If you’re curious how this local beer and ale is brewed, Cape Cod Beer hosts tours of the brewery once a day at 11 a.m. Monday – Saturday.   Here is a video of what you can expect on a tour!

Cape Cod Brewery: Cisco Brewers

Nantucket is home to Cisco Brewers, a brewery, winery, Nantucket Vineyards, and distillery, Triple Eight.

Cisco Brewers features numerous island-themed brews like the Whale’s Tale Pale Ale, an English style pale ale that is named in honor of Nantucket’s rich whaling history, the Grey Lady, which is named for the fog that often encompasses the island and Sankaty Light Lager, named after the lighthouse on the bluff on the southeastern side of the island.

Nantucket Vineyards features local red Sailor’s Delight and Cranberry Infused white. Triple Eight Distillery, which is the first micro-distillery in the region, originally began making Notch whiskey, described as “single malt whiskey from Nantucket.” It’s distilled from pure island water, with the whisky wash made from Cisco’s Marris Otter malt that is then transferred to the distillery. From there, the aging process starts by spending years in American White Oak casks and then to Nantucket Vineyard’s French Oak merlot casks for its final months. The distillery uses only natural ingredients and makes their products in small batches, ensuring that each product they create is of the most pristine quality.
