My Memories of Christmas Past

KB_PersonalChristmasTree_12.22.15This is the time of the year when most of us reflect on days gone bye. I have always loved Christmas.  Growing up it was a big deal in my family. The night before Christmas my father would have the “movie camera” all ready to go!

Christmas Eve I was so excited I couldn’t contain myself just thinking about all the presents I would open the next day. I was never disappointed. We would leave a sandwhich out for Santa and of course a couple of carrots. Haha

My  two sisters and I would wake up on Christmas morning usually around 6am and run downstairs to a sea of gifts! My eyes would light-up. The presents were never in piles according to our names…they were always mixed up so we would have to search for our own gifts. All the while my father would be filming away! Many years there would be a big gift unwrapped beside the tree…like a bicycle with just a bow on it.

After we unwrapped all the gifts we would eat breakfast and bask in the afterglow of a wonderful morning. Then around 1:00 we would do it all over again when my aunt and uncle came over with their presents. I was always every thankful. I still am.

I had a wonderful childhood. Parents that were so loving and devoted. I would look up to the sky everyday and thank God for them.
