Today Is the Day: The Unofficial Start to the Season at the Beach Comber

It’s here, it’s here! If you aren’t sure what we are talking about, we are referring to the unofficial start of summer also known as the opening night at the Beach Comber. Yep, we know that summer officially starts on June 21st, but have you seen the sunny and warm forecast for next week?

Ah yes, summer!

The streets become crowded, the wait at your favorite restaurants become longer and you having some alone time at your favorite beach is no longer alone. (Of course too, it also means tourism dollars that the Cape economy desperately needs.)

But today, the Thursday before Memorial Day Weekend, we forget about what is coming and just enjoy the night and the Cape. It’s the night we celebrate one of our most sacred places that belongs just to us for an evening. A night for locals who have been going to the Combah’ for decades while also bringing in young locals looking to have a good time with friends.

If you’re going to the Beach Comber this evening, enjoy the great local music and drinks.

As you begin the process of downing your second or third drink, take time to celebrate the upcoming season.

Celebrate the upcoming summer season and the tourists we will share our great home with for the next several months. Celebrate that there is no better place to be on the Cape than at the Combah’ on opening night when the weather cooperates. Most importantly, celebrate that we are fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful spots in the world.

Once again, the opening night lineup for tonight’s “Locals Night” includes The Ticks, The Greenheads and Earth Junior. This is the night you earn your free season pass, so don’t miss out!

And just think, the Cape will be ours again in October.
