Cape Cod Favorite Scargo Café celebrates 30 years

This week the Dennis favorite, Scargo Café, reopened for its 30th season.  Brothers Peter and David Troutman closed the restaurant during the winter for its annual deep clean and touch up. Now with a fresh coat of paint and new floors, the doors are open for again.

This year the restaurant celebrates its 30th anniversary. As with other birthdays, email subscribers will be offered a 30% discount to celebrate. This year they’ll also be organizing a reunion for staff alumni. The business is a family one and the staff have very much become family too. Several members of various families have worked at the restaurant over the years. Many employees returned year after year.

Employees have found lifelong friendships and even romance. In fact several former employees are now married after meeting on the job. David and Peter Troutman even flew overseas to attend a Europen wedding of two people who met while working at Scargo Café. Employees aren’t the only ones finding love. David says there’s a special table at Scargo Café where they’ve seen scores of couples get engaged. Is it any wonder Scargo Café has been named The Most Romantic Restaurant on the Cape?

Scargo Café in Dennis is now open. The bar and the outdoor dining areas are incredibly popular. They’ve made a few additions to the menu, but all your favorites are still there. Including over 20 wines sold by the glass. Recently, the restaurant began setting aside some table for reservations, but they always keep a few available for walk-ins.
