Local Organization, OPAK, Participates in Cambridge Science Festival

This past Saturday (April 15th) Ocean Protection Advocacy Kids, Inc. (OPAK) traveled to Cambridge, MA to participate in the Cambridge Science Festival’s Science Carnival and Robot Zoo at the War Memorial Field House!  The event had over 100 exhibitors from around New England highlighting hands-on STEAM to the public. There was everything from lights and mirrors to full blown rockets!

OPAK brought their microscopes and art supplies to show off their Plankton & Plastics Program which dives into human impacts on the marine food web and how kids can advocate for the ocean through art! They also had their water quality testing gear and a preserved plankton sample that they were showing off to the thousands of guests at the event. Kids and adults that stopped at OPAK’s exhibit not only got to see what phytoplankton and zooplankton look like under a microscope, but were able to create their own ocean advocacy message to bring home and share with their friends and family. Below are a few that were kindly left for OPAK to share with the public!
