Cotuit Center for the Arts Accepting Photography Submissions

Cotuit Center for the ArtsCOTUIT – Professional and Amateur photographers will have a chance to have their work displayed at the Cotuit Center for the Arts this summer.

The center will be presenting “Tripping the Light Fantastic: Excellence in Photography,” an international juried exhibit, from July 23 through August 28.

The show will be juried by Rowland Scherman, who was the first photographer for the Peace Corps in 1961.

He also chronicled many of the iconic musical, cultural and political events of the 1960s including the 1963 Newport Folk Festival, the March on Washington, DC, the Beatles first US concert and Woodstock.

Scherman’s photos have appeared in Life, Look, National Geographic, Time, Playboy and many other publications.

The gallery will feature 30 pieces in three categories: People, places and things. Cash prizes of $5,500 will also be awarded.

Submissions are being accepted online at onlinejuriedshows.com and callforentry.org. Visit one of these sites and create an artist account to submit entries.

Entry fees are $35 for 3 submissions and $10 for each additional entry.

The deadline to submit works is June 1.
