Ocean State Job Lot and Cardi’s Coming to East Wareham

EAST WAREHAM – The empty former Walmart building on Cranberry Highway in East Wareham will be getting new tenants.

Ocean State Job Lot and Cardi’s Furniture will be opening stores in the retail space in the spring.

Job Lot purchased the 125,000-square-foot building in August and renovations are scheduled to begin in November, according to a release from the retailer.

The stores are expecting to create 60 to 80 new jobs.

“This is a spacious building in a desirable community, and we are thrilled to have this opportunity to team with Cardi’s in developing it for both of our purposes,” said Marc Perlman, Ocean State Job Lot’s co-founder and CEO, in the news release.

The retailers are planning a grand opening in April.

The new Ocean State Job Lot will be the company’s 49^th store in the state. Other eastern Massachusetts locations include Buzzards Bay, Chatham, Dennisport, East Falmouth, Fairhaven, South Yarmouth and West Plymouth.

The Cranberry Highway showroom will be Cardi’s 10^th store in Massachusetts and joins others area stores in Falmouth, Hyannis, North Dartmouth, Orleans and Plymouth.
