SANDWICH – A motor vehicle struck a utility pole in Sandwich Saturday morning and caused more than 1,000 power outages and sent a passenger to Cape Cod Hospital.
Sandwich Police and Fire Departments responded to the scene at 4:10 a.m. on Route 6A at the corner of Old County Road.
A Fire and Rescue Crew transported a passenger to Cape Cod Hospital according to Cap. Scott Ames of the fire department.
By 8 a.m. NSTAR crews had returned power to all but 332 customers according to the companies online outage map.
Around 9 a.m. the outage map indicated there were only 3 customers in the town without power.
