28 Turtles Rescued From Cape Beaches

Stranded Turtle 7-17BARNSTABLE – It was a busy day for rescue crews Tuesday after dozens of cold stunned sea turtles washed up on Cape Cod beaches.

According to the New England Aquarium, 28 endangered turtles were found yesterday morning on local beaches after low tide followed by the morning’s high tide. All were transported to the aquarium’s sea turtle hospital in Quincy.

Yesterday marks a significant uptick in stranding activity, only nineteen turtles had washed up during the first three weeks of November.
