‘A Safe Place’ on Nantucket Names New Executive Director

COURTESY OF A SAFE PLACE: Suzanne Kennedy was chosen as the new executive director of A Safe Place, a Nantucket nonprofit which provides confidential services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

NANTUCKET – An organization which provides confidential services to survivors of domestic and sexual violence on Nantucket has named a new executive director.

A Safe Place has chosen Suzanne Kennedy to lead the organization.

She previously served as Nantucket’s town administrator in the 1990s and has a long career in municipal operations management in several communities in Massachusetts and New York.

“With strengths in operations management, fiscal oversight, regulatory compliance and personnel management, Kennedy is the right match at an important time for the agency,” said Jane Carlin, the vice president of A Safe Place’s Board of Directors.

Kennedy began working at A Safe Place this month.

A Safe Place provides direct services to victims, preventative education, supervised family visitation, crisis intervention, counseling, advocacy and more. The organization is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year.
