Accident on Route 6 in Harwich Sends One to Hospital, Halts Traffic

ER medical symbolHARWICH – A four vehicle accident on Route 6 Eastbound in Harwich this afternoon crippled traffic and sent one passenger to Cape Cod Hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

According to Cap. Donald Parker of the Harwich Fire Department, a rear end crash caused a chain reaction just east of exit 9 around 4:15 p.m.

The road was closed briefly while crews transported the victim and cleaned up.

Traffic was affected for close to an hour for motorists heading in both directions.

The State Police are investigating the accident.

Dennis Fire crews and Harwich Police assisted at the scene.

Parker said the whole area was just a mess.
