DENNIS – Melpet Farms, an affordable housing project in Dennis, is coming closer to reality now that the state has allocated funding for the project.
The development is being overseen by the Housing Assistance Corporation, it will eventually offer 27 deed restricted affordable housing units.
The develpment is moving forward, according to Town Planner Dan Fortier.
“The project is heading for groundbreaking sometime within the next month or so, they are hoping to break ground in October or November. And then be able to begin doing all the site work to get the project going.”
Fortier says the goal is to have the project complete in about 12 to 18 months.
