Air Station Cape Cod Crew Called to Fishing Vessel off Montauk, NY

CHATHAM – A Coast Guard Jayhawk helicopter crew from Air Station Cape Cod medically evacuated a 47 year old man off of Montauk, New York on Friday.

Around 8:25 a.m., the fishing vessel Braedon Michael notified the Coast Guard that a crewmember was experiencing flu like symptoms and was in and out of consciousness.

An MH-60 Jayhawk helicopter launched from Cape Cod and arrived on scene an hour later, with crews safely hoisting the crewmember from the vessel and transporting him to Air Station Cape Cod, where EMS personnel were waiting.
