WEST BARNSTABLE – Environmental issues will be in focus this weekend at the 22nd Annual Cape Cod Natural History Conference.
The event, which is organized by the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary, will feature a number of presenters from environmental organizations across the Cape.
“The conference really serves as a great opportunity for environmental organizations throughout Cape Cod and also interested local residents to come together and learn about what organizations are doing and what research is going on,” said Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary Program Coordinator Christine Bates.
The conference runs from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Cape Cod Community College’s Tilden Arts Center.
Some of this year’s topics include the rescue of the manatee off the coast of Falmouth, the sounds that fish make, why marine animals eat plastics, and the herring river tidal restoration project.
Presentations will also be given on the Bats of Camp Edwards and the Dukes County Native Bee Project.
