Applications Being Accepted for Cape Cod Art Fellowships

HYANNIS – The Arts Foundation of Cape Cod is accepting applications for its Spring Fellowship Program.

The program provides three $1,500 cash awards to local artists at critical times in their creative and professional lives.

The fellowships will be awarded for Visual Arts, Performing Arts and Written Word and are based on craftsmanship, artistic quality and creative ability expressed in the works submitted.

“The AFCC’s fellowship award is so important because it recognizes and values the contribution that individuals artists make to our communities. Without artists we would have no need for museums, galleries, theaters, concert halls, performance spaces or art centers,” said Jackie Reeves, the foundation’s 2016 Visual Arts Fellow.

“So much of what makes Cape Cod a destination place to live and visit has to do with these individuals that together make up a vibrant cultural hub.”

Applications, which are due by April 25, can be found at Arts Foundation dot org.

Applications and guidelines can be found at artsfoundation.org. The deadline to apply is April 25.

The fellowship funds are made possible through proceeds from the foundation’s Patron Program and the annual Pops by the Sea concert.

The inaugural fellowship was awarded to Richard Neal in 2015 for visual arts. The fellowship program was expanded in 2016. The three fellowships were awarded to Reeves, Chris Busa for written word and Alex Becrelis for Performing Arts.
