BARNSTABLE – The Cape Conservatory is headed back in time to the 1950’s for their annual fundraiser.
The group is putting on a Sock Hop Friday night at its 6th Artini Martini event. The 50’s themed dance party begins at 5:30 p.m. under the tent at the Barnstable Conservatory Campus on Route 132.
“Dance is one of the three pillars of instruction here at the Conservatory, so we thought throwing a sock hop would be a great addition to our already popular Artini Partini event,” said Cape Conservatory Executive Director Stephanie Weaver.
The Conservatory was founded in 1956.
Funds will be raised through a live and silent action. Some of this year’s items include a week-long stay at a bed and breakfast in the Pyrenees Mountains of France and a week-long stay in Carmel-By-The-Sea, California.
There are three participants in this year’s “Most Artistic Martini” contest: the Brazilian Grill in Hyannis, the 1620 Brewhouse in Provincetown, and Chatham Light Liquors. Attendees will try samplers and vote on their favorite.
Tickets are $75 and can purchased online at capecodconservatory.org or by calling 508-362-2772.
