Attorney General Healey Seeks Testimonials in Support of Marriage Equality

wedding ringBARNSTABLE – Massachusetts Attorney General Maura Healey is collecting testimonials from residents across the state to demonstrate to the U.S. Supreme Court the support for marriage equality in the commonwealth.

Healey will be filing a friend of the court brief on March 6 in the Supreme Court cases involving same-sex marriage bans.

Testimonials can be submitted to Healey’s Facebook page or by tweeting to @MassAGO and by using the hashtag #MA4Equality.

The testimonials may be used in her brief to the Supreme Court.

Massachusetts became the first state in the nation to allow same-sex marriages in 2004.

In April, the Supreme Court is expected to decide if same-sex couples have a constitutional right to marry everywhere in the United States.
